In the framework of accepted Country Development Strategy (CDS) for the period 2007-2010, ecological safety and poverty reduction are the most principal directions in development of Kyrgyzstan. The main purpose of this project is creation of the basic conditions and local potential to reduce poverty and improve rural community’s living conditions by promotion of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) application, including small and micro hydropower stations, biogas and solar equipment. The project is aimed integrally at remote communities’ development and improvement of local energy infrastructure, which will be a great support to Kyrgyzstan in elimination of poverty reduction and improvement environmental situation thereby achieving goals of Millennium Development Goals (MDG).
