Procurement team was set up in 2005 to meet increasing needs for organization and advising on procurement for the country office and UNDP-supported projects. The team’s responsibilities include:1
- implementing a sourcing strategy;
- e-procurement;
- controling project assets;
- administering contracts;
- overseeing procurement;
- monitoring contractual commitments;
- advising on contractual regulations;
- developing the capacities of project staff members
The procurement team also provides services to the various UN agencies on a cost-recovery basis. In accordance with international best practices and the Financial Rules and Regulations of the United Nations, the following general principles are considered during the procurement process:
- best value for money;
- fairness, integrity, and transparency;
- effective international competition;
- the interests of UNDP
