Contest goals:
- Increasing efficiency of environment and sustainable development issues coverage
- Improving public awareness of environmental and nature management issues
- Encouraging excellence in environmental reporting
Main nominations:
- Print and online news – not less than 3 analytical reports or 5 large news reports
- Television – not less than 3 thematic broadcasts or 5 reports
- Radio – not less than 3 thematic broadcasts or 5 reports
- Photography – not less than 3 photo-reports (at least 10 photographs each). Photographs are accepted in jpeg or raw format with resolution not less than 2400x3000
- Internet – not less than 5 analytical reports or 3 large reports
Additional nominations:
- “Environmental Sustainability” of the Country Development Strategy for 2007-2010
- UNDP Environment project activities
- Coverage of activities of State Agency on Environment Protection and Forestry under the Kyrgyz Republic
- Adherence to environment and sustainable development ideas of internet-resources and information agencies.
Number of additional nominations may increase. Some of projects and organizations may propose their own nominations. Information about additional nominations will be published on UNDP public website or on Regional Information Network CARNet website at www.caresd.net.
Working languages of the competition: Kyrgyz and Russian.
The UNDP Environment Protection for Sustainable Development Programme is organizing presentations for journalists and mass media representatives on the activity of the UNDP projects, other donors and SAEP&F, which are tentatively planned for September 2008 and take place in Bishkek, Cholpon-Ata and Osh.
All submissions must have been published (or broadcasted) in the territory of Kyrgyzstan between 01.01.08 and 10.11.08.
