Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (July 6, 2009) – Alumni of rehabilitation groups of Bishkek lyceum #91 want to become chefs of the well-known restaurants.  In the nearest future they will get cook diplomas with specialization on baby diet food.  This major was implemented last year in the pilot lyceum #91, within the UNDP Project “Vocational education for Street Children in the Kyrgyz Republic”.
Currently, 15 children from socially vulnerable groups have finished theoretical studies and going through practical training in different places of food service in Bishkek as well as in hotels of Issyk-Kul.  This major covers not only baby diet food, but also includes many other courses on national and European cuisine.
Akjol Kasymbekov has chosen to intern in his own Public Charitable Fund ‘Svetly Put’ since he was an alumnus of this organization.  Akjol likes cook’s profession very much and he hopes to be the highly qualified cook and work in a restaurant.
The other alumni of lyceum #91 - Nuria Khakimova and Ravshan Abdraimov are going through internship at a cafeteria of the State Agency on Information Resources under the Kyrgyz Republic Government.  “Children are very capable with a good theoretical knowledge”, - says Nurjan Shamshieva, cafeteria chef.

Nuria Khakimova prefers to cook diet dishes: porridges, curd pancakes and different salads.  Ravshan likes to cook meat dishes.  Although Nuria and Ravshan have just started their internship, they already have job offers from employers.  Therefore, one may safely affirm that alumni of rehabilitation groups of lyceum #91 will always be in demand at the labor market.

Therefore, demand for this profession in the capital is confirmed.  There are more children who wish to study for a cook profession.  In this regard, training for a cook’s profession for a baby diet food will be pursued within the UNDP Project “Vocational education for Street Children in the Kyrgyz Republic”.  Owing to this, dozens of children, who can not take their place in a society, will be able to master a demanded profession today.
