One UN Programme Is Launched in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (9 March 2010) – Today, the First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Akylbek Japarov and the UN Resident Coordinator Mr. Neal Walker announced the Launch of the One UN Programme in Kyrgyzstan.

Funding of a total USD 3.6 million was committed for the implementation of the One UN Programme in Kyrgyzstan in 2010. This sum represents core UN funding granted to the UN system in Kyrgyzstan to be allocated to projects determined jointly between the United Nations and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic through the Joint Steering Committee.

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (24 February, 2010) – Vocational school #18 hosted professors from Akershus University College, Dr. Ronny Sannerud and Dr. Tore Melby, last week where the latter conducted a two-week educational capacity building workshop for teachers from three vocational schools in Bishkek. The workshop was on The Theory of Multiple Intelligences and Cooperative Learning and organized in the framework of the UNDP Vocational Education for Street Children Project funded by the Government Norway.

Multi-country Capacity Building Project Inception Workshop is held in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan (March 2, 2010) – Multi-country Capacity Building Project Inception Workshop will be held in the UN House.

The workshop is devoted to the presentation of the new GEF/UNDP Project aimed at capacity building at national and international levels for development and implementation of participatory approach and strategies on combating land degradation in frames of operational National Programming Frameworks.
