UNDP Youth Programme Send Print
Project ID: 00075662

The programme engages young people in socioeconomic, cultural and political life of the country and empowers them to take action to make Kyrgyzstan a better place to live, including through the NHDR advocacy campaign.  In the short-term, UNDP aims to alleviate the current tensions among the youth groups and channel their energy into productive activities through organization of public works and the nationwide Caravan “Development in Diversity” which will consolidate young leaders around solutions of the concrete local socioeconomic problems and empower youth to take action in the development of the country.  The long-term programme goal is full-fledged resilient and exuberant youth groups as a mechanism of reproduction of young leaders and youth initiative groups (YIGs) and a stable channel of communication with existing institutions (government agencies, private sector, civil society, etc.).
