The main objective of the project is to strengthen a cooperation and coordination in the area of disaster response between the Governments of the Kyrgyz Republic, UN Country Team, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and other key participants to adequately and effectively prepare responses for possible disasters.

Expected outcomes of the project:

-         Emergency warning mechanisms and exchange of information between partners developed;

-         Objectives, strategy, roles and mandates formulated;

-         Exchange of information and coordination improved;

-         Disaster response coordination mechanism in the Kyrgyz Republic established by the UN jointly with the Government and other organizations, to effectively deal with crisis and conflict situations;

- Disaster preparedness capacity of the Country enhanced.
